Antioxidant defense system of rat liver under the influence thiosulfonate esters

Background. The article presents a study of the antioxidant defense system liver rats under influence thiosulfonate esters: S-ethyl-4-amino­benzenethiosulfonate (ETS), S-allyl-4-aminobenzenethiosulfonate (ATS) and S-allyl-4-acetyl-aminobenzenethiosulfonate (AATS) at concentrations 50 100 mg per kg body weight. Thiosulfonate esters, which are synthetic sulfur-containing analogs allicin, exhibit anti-inflammatory properties. is main organ where metabolism xenobiotics endogenous molecules occur to maintain metabolic homeostasis body, constantly exposed reactive oxygen species (ROS) subsequently oxidative stress. Materials Methods. effectiveness in rats’ was evaluated by measuring level stress markers (lipid peroxidation (LPO)) activity enzymes – catalase (CAT), superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GP), reductase (GR), reduced (GSH). Results. potential properties esters their dose-dependent effect were determined. In particular, action dose mg/kg, content lipid products did not change significantly. Catalase increased ETS mg/kg. Under ATS AATS doses GP decreased. At same time, mg/kg significantly decreased hydroperoxides. TBA-reactive products. studied compounds lower dose, SOD increased, increased. decrease GR combined with an probably due inhibitory test substance on energy processes body. Conclusions. demonstrated redox balance liver, proving be more effective thiosulfonates.
